Is apparently the equivalent of “air conditioning just needs a charge” for an AutoStick Beetle.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Note: people are way more accepting of seeing “transmission shot, but good candidate for a 4spd swap” than they are of whatever BS yo
u use in an attempt to pull wool over their eyes.

Those Vee-dubs all had a peculiar smell inside . My dad had a ‘71 Karmann Ghia that I flogged mercilessly.

I had a ‘71 Super Beetle as a first car, was surprisingly fun for what it was. I think the smell was mostly the horsehair in the upholstery, Volkswagen stuck with that longer than most other companies. Oh, and you definitely get more gas and oil odor than in the typical postwar car.
I’ve been thinking about another, assuming I still have a job when the lockdowns end. They avoid a lot of the pitfalls of older car ownership - excellent parts support, easy to work on, no radiator/water pump/coolant lines/heater core, no power window regulators or other electronic accessories, etc. The less failure points, the better. As long as it isn’t rusty.

“Partially restored”... but still has a bashed in bumper. And no engine bay shots and no pics underneath.
And for $1000-$2000 more, you can get one with the manual in decent running condition.
If the body is solid and the engine is good, it might be a nice price at $4000
